I spent my career in operations and procurement. My work was figuring out where money leaked out of a business, what it was actually buying, and how to rebuild the system so the spend produced a return instead of a recurring bill.
That lens is how I see contractor marketing. I watched too many founders hire agencies that produced reports instead of revenue. They paid every month for impressions and clicks and dashboards full of numbers that never tied back to a booked job. When the contract ended, they had nothing to show for it. They had rented visibility, and the moment they stopped paying, it disappeared.
